Acting Class:

Corey’s acting class provides a safe and supportive environment for the actor to work out, to step into their power and to succeed in realizing each goal. Actors will practice making choices – in the ways that can help them understand the scene, bring it to life and take ownership of the piece. The actor’s authenticity, their essence as a person is a key ingredient in the equation of this work. In Corey’s class a wide variety of tools are available.

Corey assigns monologues and scenes from his library, which includes thousands of plays and screenplays. He also assigns exercises from the Actors Studio. If audition sides are brought in, he will teach the actor to unlock the scenes and to make choices that bring the story to life and that showcase the actors unique ability and presence. This work translates directly into the work an actor will do in the industry.

Class creates a sense of community. Any issues an actor experiences in their audition process, rehearsal process or work process is safe to discuss in class, for we all learn together and the identification with one another can be universal. Actors in this class are working towards empowerment in their art and in their career. Corey takes actors to the next level; he will challenge the actor, giving them roles that extend their range and increase confidence. Corey’s class is unique and is founded on his own personal training in New York City with some of the great teachers of our time Commitment from the actor is a requirement. Please see testimonials to hear the students speak about working with Corey Parker.

On Corey’s Workshops…

"It was great to see you work with actors of all skill levels and backgrounds. You are masterful at communicating story and the intentions and ideas for the actor to see in the role. You make it do-able because your demeanor says it can be done without fuss. I can only imagine the struggles of gaining this skill set through years of discipline. You have so many tools at your disposal which you seemingly dispense with ease."
